THE AUTH BAR'S BRAND LOCKUP — the marketing header's change, restated here
because this is the only shared sheet /login, /signup and /reset-password
actually load. Verified by fetching the rendered /login <head>: it links
/style.css and this file and NOTHING else, so the block at the foot of
nav-unify.css never reaches these three pages. Full rationale for the
background-image approach and the three theme states is in that block.

THIS BAR'S GROUND IS NOT THE MARKETING HEADER'S, and that changes the
   default. Sampled live on /login:
     data-theme="dark" rgb(34,40,42)
     data-theme="light" #FFFFFF
     un-stamped, system dark rgb(34,40,42)
     un-stamped, system light rgb(34,40,42) <- still dark
   The white bar is painted only by the html[data-theme="light"] rules above;
with scripting off nothing stamps the attribute, so the bar stays dark in
BOTH system schemes. So the dark cut is the default here and there is no
prefers-color-scheme rule at all — this surface does not answer to one.
Writing the marketing rule here instead would have put a white-outline mark
on a white bar for every visitor with scripting off.

SIZE. 39x26 is the 374x252 source at the auth bar's existing 26px mark
   height (style.css:410 sets .brand-mark .logo .qf-brand-mark to height 26px),
which keeps the bar the 57px it already measured. The word sizes itself in
em off .brand-mark's 17px, so the two halves stay in proportion without a
   second number.

THE FRAME COMES OFF, same as the marketing header's: a 1px
rgba(255,255,255,.30) box at 6px radius was drawn for a near-square keys
mark and crops a wide lockup. The important flag is matched, not escalated.
